Things that rock and things that don’t rock

ROCK:
beautiful new widescreen laptop
– beautiful fast, powerful wireless connection at home
– going back to school
– having a good reason to hang out in a library
– many Victorian poetry texts available online! Go Gutenberg go!

DON’T ROCK:
– Georgetown GoTrain line suspending service due to a broken rail
– nearly losing my toes to the freezing cold while waiting for a train that didn’t arrive this morning
– taking the Keele bus and showing up to work 2 1/2 hours late
– copy of ‘Decline and Fall’ that I ordered through Chapters.ca hasn’t arrived yet and I need it read for next Tuesday
– several books on reading lists out of print, dammit

  1. No no no! It’s cool! I checked your neato shipping thingy and the Canada Post people PROMISE me it will be here today. I should clarify that it’s not entirely the fault of the good people at Chapters-Indigo, but rather my desperate and failed attempts to find a local used copy which resulted in me ordering later than I should.

    But thank you! *smooch*

Any sign of your giftie yet? Or should I resend at this point??

  2. – Thomas Hardy, ‘The Dynasts’
    – Graham Greene, ‘A Burnt-Out Case’
    – Graham Greene, ‘Our Man in Havana’

I really hope my library card is working today, so I can take these suckers out. I should have asked to borrow yours Wednesday before class and returned it to you after class, but I wasn’t thinking that clearly. Smeg.
