Phew! That was a long interview. Let me correct myself: the interview itself wasn’t long, the WRITING TEST afterwards was. I think it went well, with the exception of my glaring lack of journalistic experience, but my digital photography and web editing skills may have evened out the scales. I guess we’ll see. Apparently I will hear within two weeks, which is “fast” for government.
It would be neat to have a job where I get to 1) use my writing skills, 2) get a by-line in a published periodical, 3) do something creative, even if it’s just taking photos and the odd bit of photoshoppery. And it would certainly be cool to have a PERMANENT position at this level, since I would no longer live in fear of returning to my home position, which is not only low-paying, but also somewhat like being in Hell. On the plus side, if I ever did get bumped back down to that level, I would have an awesome and unarguable reason for quitting the Office forever. Hmm.
Did manage to go to yoga last night. Very proud of myself, although the studio is closing for two weeks for a film shoot and to have the floors replaced, which is inconvenient for consistent usage. Am very sore today, especially through the shoulders and chest. Discovered to my horror *exactly* how much weight I have put on during such poses as Sarvangasana (shoulder stand, where your belly is, quite literally, in your face) and Halasana (the Plough, where your feet go over your head while you are lying down and suddenly you’re *breathing* your stomach). If anyone out there is wondering if they might be overweight, do one of these poses, and you will know for sure.
And let’s hope no one goes on strike so that there can be that shuffle and I CAN HAVE THE DAMNED SUMMER OFF AT FULL PAY ALREADY!!
Two weeks? That’s, like, light speed for the OPS. Word!
The plough is totally my nemesis. As if my stomach doesn’t get in the way enough in every day life! And then it’s RIGHT THERE, and I can’t breathe, and…yeah.
