About Last Night

Well, I’m not really “in the mood” to blog today for some reason, so I’ll keep it brief.

Saw Dave last night, which was fun. We went for coffee at Second Cup, where we proceeded to discuss his reunion with his recently-broken-up-with ladyfriend. After a goodly amount of chatting on this and associated topics, we decided it was time to eat. Due to the “cooking on hot rocks” phenomenon, and the ability to look at pretty snow from really, really high up, we thought we’d try ‘Panorama’.

Got lost in the underground PATH trying to head north. Took the subway up to Yonge/Bloor. Popped briefly into my favorite kids toy store, ‘Science City’ and looked at books – there’s a Dorling-Kindersley illustrated history of robots that I want SO BADLY. When we finally arrived at the restaurant, it was closed due to a ‘King Kong: the Video Game’ release party. Tried to tell the concierge that I was with Adam Sesler and Morgan Webb, but for some reason she saw through me.

Decided a change of venue was called for, went to Green Mango. Mmmm. Delicious Mango. Delicious Cave Springs Riesling. Delicious sticky rice with bananas and warm coconut sauce.

Walked in frigid cold and blowing snow along Bloor to see old friend Layna. Met her two kitties. Love them instantly. Want to steal kitties. Chat with Layna, her friend Mike and Dave for a while. Grow sleepy. Unpack gigantic bag of goodies that Dave thoughtfully hauled up from United States. So much fabric! Almost 50 yards. That’s a lot. Also 3 quilt books and some gardening stuff. Play a little ping pong. See Layna’s scrapbooking and wine-sniffing kits. They are awesome. Finally take cab home $35 ouch. Go to sleep. Now, work.

Sorry this failed to be lyrical. Also failed at brevity. Shit. The end.
