Well, a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Due to JVL’s grand mal last year, we didn’t make it to the San Diego comic convention. Rather than lose the money for the plane tickets, we opted to pay a rebooking fee, and as such we had a fairly large flight credit remaining for use, but with considerable restrictions.
For example: flights HAD to be with the same airline (United, which flies almost nowhere I want to go); HAD to be the same two people flying, at the same time (so no separate trips, mini-trips or one big trip by one of us); and all travel had to be completed by June 10th of 2006.
Given current employment and financial situations for both of us, this seemed like an impossible credit to use. I’m in a constant state of flux with my contract work, and it’s not good to go on vacation in the middle of a major project when you’ve just started at a new ministry. JVL has also been going through some serious career transitions lately, so we were both quite stressed about losing the money altogether due to not being able to meet the restrictions. No longer!
I spent a good bit of time last week playing around on the United.com website, and finally found two tickets to Nassau, over the Easter long weekend, for less than $600USD, and I’ve booked them. JVL and I will be visiting
🙂
Yay Bahamas!
Good for you! It will almost be like spending nothing now 🙂 I”m glad you got something to work out.
Oh, that’s great – it’ll be a nice break. Bahamas – yay!
You’ll be ready for a vacation by then, so enjoy yourselves. By the way, I gave your Dad his smoochies for his birthday – he had a really good day. Also, your quilts are totally grand – hope you raise lots of money for charity. Love, Mom
