And the winner is…

So last night we made the final visit to Olympia Tile and picked out the floor for the bathroom. The winner is (drum roll)… Indian Autumn slate! There will be a chair rail, also. Man oh man, this bathroom better look damn pretty when we’re done with it.

We also packed most of the rest of my stuff. There are a few outstanding bits and bobs left to throw in boxes, but I have faith that it will all get done in the end. I really do have a hideous number of books, though. There is going to be some monster garage sale/charitable donation work happening in September at our house. It’s been years and years since I’ve set up for a garage sale. The last one was in high school, to raise money for the band to travel to Musicfest in Halifax. We did it at my friend Chris’s house, and all I really remember is listening to Metallica on his portable CD player and joking around with Alyssa about a hideously mottled brown and orange ceramic washcloth holder in the shape of an open mouthed frog. We named him Francois, and then couldn’t part with him.

I found Francois yesterday while I was packing. He’s still ugly.

  1. I’m very excited about the slate.

Yes, I’m a decorating dork, wanna make something of it?

    😉

  2. Never let it be said that your vote doesn’t count (sorry, watching too much West Wing lately).

We decorating dorks have to stick together. I may shortly make some sort of cut-tag poll regarding opinions on my future towel warmer choice and wall paint/towel colour selection. You still need to come by and see the reno job I did on my “library/office” space. Although I guess it won’t feel super libraryish until I actually move all my books in this weekend.

*Hugs* for my Trading Spaces-addicted Melly!
