Instead of being here at work, unfocussed, sick, with 5 days to Christmas, I could be:
– learning how to bake delicious pies and cookies
– paiting Iron Chef-themed tiles to adorn cupboards in the kitchen
– cleaning, wood filling, and priming said kitchen cupboards
– writing amusing and catchy dialogue for my mermaid comic
– reading Evelyn Waugh and Graham Greene in prep for school
– reading Tennyson, Browning, etc. for my other class next semester
– sleeping off my unfortunate bout of illness
– after returning to good health, visiting my Dad
– having coffee with friends
– playing solitaire (or Bejeweled)
– shopping for late Christmas/birthday gifts
– dusting the shelves at home
– flying to Istanbul to see the Hagia Sofia
– cutting cloth for a quilt
– watching Northern Exposure on DVD
– making stop-motion films with my Buffy toys in compromising poses
– giving JVL a back massage
– soaking in a hot bath
– breathing in a yoga pose
Someone want to tell me why I used up all my vacation time in the first two weeks of this wretched, nearly finished year? Please?
