Adoption plea

Does anyone have room for a wee orphan cactus in their home? I have a little spindly fellow who has lived with me for many years, currently toddling through his old age in my living room. Due to recent developments, said cactus must now leave my company and my home.

Justin has developed an unfortunate magnetic attraction to this prickly plant, not unlike Bart Simpson to cupcakes. Although I have placed the cactus in a well-lit area in front of a window, in an unused room, barricaded with drifts and piles of laundry and power tools, he simply cannot seem to stop himself from wanting to smash his wrist painfully and repeatedly into the barbs.

If any green-thumbed individuals (Uli, I’m looking at you, here) were open to the idea of taking a small plant and its terracotta pot into their home, I would be forever grateful. He doesn’t ask for much attention, just a little water now and then, but he’s not comfortable with being petted and will defend himself if threatened.

Post a comment if you’re interested; home or work delivery may be possible within the GTA.

  1. and get back to you. I am so un-plant-friendly that I have managed to starve even cacti. But the lamb is a lover and non-killer of plants, and has a special place in her heart for succulents. I’ll let you know what she thinks.

  2. We will take yon cactus! I’ll be downtown tomorrow (Thursday) for a meeting that takes place at 6:00. Can I meet you some time before 5:30 and pick it up? If not, let me know when you’ll be around and we’ll hook something up.

    Kisses!

  3. Ooh ooh! Excitement!

A visit from Paul AND a safe and loving home for my cactus! My cup runneth over.

We could meet wherever you liketh. Wouldst thou be interested in viewing the new condo? It’s close to campus… Bay & College. I have orange juice and water and C-Plus and such. Also tea & hot chocolate. And there’s a Starbucks on the corner if you like. Let me know, and I’ll send you directions.

  4. Lurvely!

I’d love to see the new condo. I’m due at Queen & University at 6:00pm, so any meeting time that will allow me to exit at 5:30 will be fine. Let me know when and where to meet you!

    Cheers,

    Paul
