For some reason, the Ministry of Natural Resources always sends me their News Releases electronically. I find them so cute! They’re not what you’d call “hard” news stories, more like “feel-good” reporting, and sometimes they really tickle my fancy.
Check out the last few…
PROVINCE OPENS NEW CHAPTER IN BEAR WISE PROGRAM: Launches Electronic Educational Book About Black Bears
ONTARIO GOVERNMENT PROTECTS DECLINING EEL POPULATIONS: Recreational Eel Angling Banned In Ontario
PROVINCE ENSURES CONSERVATION OF ONTARIO WOLVES: Introduces New Closed Season For Hunting And Trapping
NEW HUNTING OPPORTUNITIES IN ONTARIO: Turkey Hunting Hours Extended
PROVINCE PROTECTS MOOSE POPULATIONS: Launches Moose Watch 2004; Annual Campaign Against Moose Poaching
I mean, my goodness, what a nice province I live in! We protect *everything*, from the slithering eels to the mighty moose. Does anyone else find these hilarious, or is it just me? I mean, did you even know that Moose Watching Statistics were available? Living in the big city is limiting sometimes. I had no idea that angling for eels was considered recreational by anyone. Fascinating.
